Abstract. The effect of iron chelates and Fe concentration in peat substrate on greenhouse tomato cv. ‘Merkury F1’ was evaluated. The highest total, marketable and early yield was found when the Forte Fe (EDTA) was used as iron source. Increment of iron concentration in growing medium from 50 to 75 and 100 mg·dm-3 was caused.

The effect of iron chelates on yielding of greenhouse tomato grown in peat substrate
Summary
The aim of the investigations was to estimate the effect of different kinds of iron chelates: Fe 8 Forte (EDTA), Top 13 (EDTA+DTPA) and Librel Fe DP7 (DTPA) and iron concentration 50, 75 and 100 mg Fe·dm-3 on yielding of greenhouse tomato cv. ‘Merkury F1’. Significantly higher total, marketable and early yield was found when the Fe 8 Forte (EDTA) was used as iron source. The differences in yields between plants fertilized with Fe 13 Top and Librel Fe DP7 were not proved statistically. Increament of iron concentration in growing medium from 50 to 75 and 100 mg Fe·dm-3 lead to yielding increasing, but the highest early yield was achieved by 75 mg Fe·dm-3. The best yielding was recorded when Fe 8 Forte in 75 mg Fe·dm-3 while and Fe 13 Top and Librel Fe DP7 in concentration of 100 mg Fe·dm-3 were used.
